TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Terms and Conditions
All pupils must be in possession of a signed U. K. Provisional Driving
License for Group 'B' Cars on commencement of the training.
1. INSURANCE:
All fees include pupil cover whilst driving the School vehicle, (provided
the pupil is licensed to drive). And is accompanied by, or under the direction
of a Driving Standards Agency A.D.I / P.D.I (Car) or on a Driving Test with an
approved DSA Examiner(s).
2. FEES:
Beta-Drive currently charges £22.50 for Manual lessons. Discounts are
available but at the discretion of Beta-Drive All hourly driving lessons are
subject to a minimum 2 working days (48 hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and
Bank Holidays) notice for any cancellations. The School retains the right to
charge full tuition fee if the above notice is not given.
Such notice to the school or instructor (in writing or by telephone) shall be
deemed to have been served on the day that the communication is received at the
schools premises, where it will be timed and recorded by a member of our staff.
Telephone answer machine messages and text messages will not be considered as
the school having been notified of cancellation or postponement of lessons.
3. PAYMENTS:
We accept payment by either Cash or Cheque (supported by a cheque guarantee
card). No cheques will be accepted from persons under 18 years old. Pre-payment
lessons are accepted on the understanding no refunds will be given. Courses are
subject to a minimum £70 deposit on the booking fee.
4. APPOINTMENTS:
a) While every care will be taken to ensure Pupils receive training at the
requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that the School is
not responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions,
adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment or any other cause
outside of our control.
b) If in the view of the Instructor, the pupil is unfit to carry out the lesson
safely; due to self-induced circumstances (e.g. Alcohol or Drugs) a cancellation
charge will apply.
5. COURSEWORK PAPERS ETC:
All question papers, handouts, books, C.D. ROMs and relevant materials
remain the property of Beta-Drive until sold. (If not returned on request a fee
will be charged).
6. THE DRIVING TEST:
The school reserves the right to withhold the training vehicle, if in the
Instructor’s opinion; the pupil does not reach the required standard. The school
cannot be held responsible for Test Appointments being postponed or cancelled by
the Driving Standards Agency. Furthermore we are not responsible for any failure
of light bulbs etc during the Practical test. All bulbs/lights etc will be
checked at the test centre prior to the test, with the candidate.
7. PERSONAL PROPERTY:
Beta-Drive accepts no liability for personal property that is left in any
training vehicle.
8. MOBILE PHONES:
All pupils should ensure that these are switched off, prior to entering the
tuition vehicle, for safety reasons.
9. CLIENT WELL BEING:
In the interest of comfort and safety, clients are advised to wear suitable
footwear and comfortable clothing that does not restrict any movement, please
ask your instructor for any advise you may require.
10. SCHOOL/INSTRUCTOR GUARANTEE
The school/Instructor guarantees that only legally authorised instructors
will give tuition.
Instructor’s official authorising documents will be displayed on the windscreen
of the car and may be inspected freely at any time.
If an authorised trainee instructor is used, a pupil may expect a senior
supervising instructor present during some of the lessons.
11. LEGAL LIABILITY
Clients should be aware that their instructor’s primary objective is to
promote road safety and in doing so he/she will have to issue instructions which
the clients must be prepared to carry out without undue argument.
The instructor will make every effort to train you to the highest standard but
can in no way be held liable for any errors you commit whilst driving and
unaccompanied by your instructor either before, during or after a test pass.
12. SPECIAL OFFERS
From time to time, Beta-Drive will use special discounts, vouchers or
offers. Please note that each discount, voucher or offer is independent of any
other and cannot be used in conjunction with any other type of discount, voucher
or offer.
13. REFUND OF TEST FEES
Beta-Drive will refund the test fees for any pupils sitting their test for the
first time with Beta-Drive. All pupils must have taken at least 10 lessons with
Beta-Drive and booked the test with the endorsement of Beta-Drive. The pupils
must not commit more that one minor mistake and no major mistakes in order for
Beta-Drive to refund the test Fees. This is at the discretion of Beta-Drive and
only valid upon presentation of the test sheet.
14. DISCLAIMER
The Site And Materials And Related Communications Are Provided "As Is"
Without Any Representations Or Warranties, Express Or Implied, Of Any Kind,
Including, But Not Limited To, Warranties Of Merchantability, Non-Infringement,
Or Fitness For Particular Purpose. Beta-Drive Also Does Not Warrant The Accuracy
Or Completeness Of The Materials, Including But Not Limited To The Reliability
Of Any Advice, Statement Or Other Information Displayed Or Distributed Through
The Site. You Acknowledge By The Use Of The Site That Any Reliance On Any Such
Materials, Advice, Statement Or Information Shall Be At Your Sole Risk.
Beta-Drive Assumes No Responsibility, And Shall Not Be Liable For Any Damages
To, Or Viruses That May Infect, Your Computer Equipment Or Other Property On
Account Of Your Access To, Use Of, Or Browsing In The Site (Including Any
Bulletin Board And Chat Room) Or Your Downloading Of Any Materials From The
Site.
Use of Personal information
Information you provide or we hold about you (whether or not under our
contract (or contracts) with you may be used by us and our agents to:
1. identify you when you contact us;
2. help identify accounts, services and/or products which you could have from us
from time to time.
3. help administer, and contact you about improved administration of, any
accounts, services and products we have provided before, or provide now or in
the future;
4. carry out marketing analysis and customer profiling (including with
transactional information) and create statistical and testing information;
5. help to prevent and detect fraud or loss; and
6. contact you in any way (including mail, email, phone, visit, text or
multimedia messages) about products and services offered by us and selected
partners. We will only contact you in this way if you have previously indicated
your consent.
We may allow other people and organisations to use information we hold about
you for the purpose of providing services you have asked for, as part of the
process of selling one or more of our businesses, or if we have been
legitimately asked to provide information for legal or regulatory purposes or as
part of legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings.
We may monitor and record communications with you (including phone
conversations and emails) for quality assurance, legal, compliance and training
purposes.
We will check your details with fraud prevention agencies. If you provide
false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this. We
and other
organisations may use and search these records to:
1. help make decisions about credit and credit related services for you and
members of your household;
2. help make decisions on motor, household, credit, life and other insurance
proposals and insurance claims for you and other members of your household;
3. trace debtors, recover debt, prevent fraud, and to manage your accounts or
insurance policies; and
4. check your identity to prevent money laundering unless you give us other
satisfactory proof of identity.
